The Friends of the Quantocks is The Conservation Charity for the Quantock Hills since 1949.

The Friends of the Quantocks is for anyone who loves the Quantocks!

Our purpose is To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the landscape and natural environment of the Quantock Hills.

  • We are an independent voice for the public, preserving the Quantock landscape and natural environment.
  • We own Bicknoller Quarry and a part of the forest and Common Land on the Hill which we maintain for the enjoyment of the public.
  • We monitor planning applications on and around the Hills to guard against inappropriate development.
  • We listen to concerns brought to us by our members or the public and speak for the public in the management of the Hills.
  • We undertake and fund surveys and conservation projects that aim to improve the environment of the hills or our understanding of them.
